The New Canaan YMCA will host a family-friendly community event this fall from 11:30am – 2:30pm on Sunday, October 20. The free event, which is open to the community, includes an obstacle course filled with multiple inflatables, family-friendly obstacles, and other fun challenges, as well as music, a taco truck, and yard games. Event will take place on the Y’s back field, where all ages will find something to enjoy with family and friends.
“We are so excited to host this family fun obstacle run event at the Y this fall. Our mission for Youth Development and Healthy Living mesh together for this event where our community can come together with family and friends for a fun, active day,” said Davie Cedela, Senior Director of Family and Youth Development.
The Y promotes the Search Institute’s developmental assets for families and youth. According to the Search Institute, healthy, strong family relationships are foundational to young people’s growth, learning, and well-being. These relationships build strong social and emotional strengths that kids use throughout their lives. In this spirit, the Y provides opportunities for families in our community to enjoy meaningful and healthy activities together.
