FAFU Child Sponsorship Program

Where We Can Make a Difference Across the World

Since 2007, the New Canaan YMCA has proudly partnered with Facing the Future, a child development center in Kibera, Kenya, Africa’s largest slum. Through our partnership, we provide life-saving funds, support, and meaningful connections to the 300+ children of Facing the Future.

Each Sponsorship Provides a FAFU Student With:

One year of education & school supplies
Two meals per day
School Uniform
Medical supplies and routine check-ups

Sponsors are offered opportunities to engage with their sponsored child through exchanging letters and video calls during the school year. We are proud to announce that the current school year’s fourth grade students have all been sponsored! Please stay tuned later this year for details about sponsoring a child from the 2023 fourth grade class.
