AQUATIC DEPARTMENT
Aquatic Instructor
Pay range: $10.50-$15.00/hour
Job Duration: Year Round
Positions available Monday through Friday some morning and all afternoons; Saturdays mornings. Certifications in Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard, first Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer not mandatory, but helpful. Looking for kind hearted, fun staff that has experience working with children. CAMP
Camp Y-Ki Assistant Camp Director
Pay range: $15-$22/hour based on experience
Job Duration: Seasonal
In search of a hard-working, energetic, well organized, responsible person to take on the role of Camp Y-Ki Assistant Camp Director. In conjunction with the Camp Y – Ki Director, the Assistant Camp Director will assist in the planning, supervision, and implementation of a well-rounded school age camp program. The program developed will strive to meet the social, physical, spiritual, and cognitive development needs of children, ages 5 -15, at the New Canaan YMCA. They will also closely work with the Camp Director in supervising and training the Camp Staff.
- Possess a degree in Elementary Education, or Early Childhood Development, Recreation, or a related field and/or have experience working with elementary school children.
- Experience as a camp counselor required.
- Must have the ability to supervise counselors and volunteers and to communicate goals of the YMCA.
- Experience in arts and crafts, sports, music, and nature is helpful.
- Current in medication and epi-pen training.

CHILDCARE
Child Development Assistant Teacher (Full time)
Pay range: $15.13-$19/hour, based on experience
Job Duration: Year Round
Under the direction of the Infant-Preschool Child Care Director and Lead Teachers, the Assistant Teacher will be responsible assisting in daily aspects of the classroom program, and care of children. The Assistant Teacher will work toward providing a program to foster children’s social, physical, emotional, and cognitive growth at all times under the direction of the Lead Teachers and Director.
Successful candidates will possess: Minimum high school diploma but should be pursuing a degree in child development or related ECE field, previous early childhood teaching experience with a strong background in Early Childhood Development, must possess good communications skills and patience, individual must be the ability to work well with children in cooperation with other staff and parents of participants, and be responsive and flexible to the needs of the program.

Parking Lot Security Guard
Pay Range: $13.00–$17.00/hour

New Canaan YMCA is looking for a parking lot security guard 15 hours a week, Mon-Fri 3:30pm to 6:30pm. Opportunity to pick up extra hours on weekends for special events. At least 2-years’ experience with certifications is preferred. Must have good customer service and communications skills with the ability to manage a busy parking lot in the afternoons. Wellness Associate (Part Time)

New Canaan YMCA Wellness Center Associate needed – Part-Time Staff needed to work in Wellness Center. The position involves, greeting and engaging with members and aiding and assisting them by providing basic exercise guidance and assistance. Other tasks involve basic cleaning equipment and maintaining a neat and clean workout environment. Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified. An interest in living a Healthy Lifestyle, Wellness, Exercise, and helping others required. Health Wellness certification candidates preferred. Position does require some light to medium lifting, picking up weight plates, dumbbells etc. Early AM, weekend and evening shift are available asap.
