Aquatic Instructor
Pay range:       $10.50-$15.00/hour
Job Duration: Year Round
Positions available Monday through Friday some morning and all afternoons; Saturdays mornings. Certifications in Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard, first Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer not mandatory, but helpful.  Looking for kind hearted, fun staff that has experience working with children. Experience in teaching swimming preferred, but will train. Resumes immediately accepted. Lifeguards (Part time)

Job Duration: Year Round
Must have current certifications in Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR for the professional Rescuer, and AED. Camp Y-Ki Waterfront Director
Pay range:       $15-$21/hour
Job Duration:   Seasonal
Have lots of fun this summer working outside at our Camp Y-Ki waterfront. Solely responsible for safety and maintenance of beach and swimming area.  Position will supervise aquatic staff and counselors.  Lots of opportunity for development of a good leader working around children in one of the nicest summer atmospheres.  Candidate must be 21 years of age and qualified to be the director of each individual waterfront or swimming area, including areas devoted to the practice of aquatics.  Position requires the ability to teach children how to swim, preferably with experience in either the National YMCA Swim Lesson Program or the American Red Cross Water Safety Program. Must have current certification in:

  • YMCA or American Red Cross Lifeguard certification
  • CPR/AED for the Pro – Rescuer for lifeguards
  • American Red Cross Standard First Aid

Child Development Teachers (Part time)
Pay range:         $12.75 – $20.00/hour, based on experience

The New Canaan YMCA Hargrove Child Development Center is looking for highly motivated, dedicated, compassionate and caring individuals who enjoy working with young children and families, in our play-based toddler and preschool programs.   Become a part of our dynamic YMCA childcare team, and work in our beautiful Child Development Center, which has an excellent reputation in the community. 

Successful candidates will possess the following: previous early childhood teaching experience; a creative, child-centered approach to learning; knowledge of the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of young children; and a proven record of working effectively with children and families.

Middle School Night/Youth @ the Y Staff (Seasonal)
Pay Range:        $10.10 – $14.00/hour
Job Duration:     Seasonal (once a month)
Help foster the intellectual, social, and physical growth of Middle School Madness participants by providing a meaningful and enjoyable Middle School Madness experience.   Teens will enjoy and have a safe environment to hang out in with friends, and will benefit from meaningful relationships with adults while experiencing and taking part in a variety of different activities.
