The New Canaan YMCA’s Aquianas Synchronized Swimming program will host a free mermaid-themed pool party on Saturday, September 28 from 1:00-3:30pm, and open to the public between ages five to 12. Pool party attendees will learn synchronized swimming moves from current Aquianas while listening to music above and underwater, as well as having fun in the water while playing with pool floats and making new friends.
The New Canaan YMCA’s Synchronized Swimming program combines a mix of swimming, dance, and gymnastics to comprise a creative outlet for young athletes within an athletic and competitive environment. Enrollment is open throughout the fall for those interested in taking synchronized swimming classes at the Y after trying it out at the event.
Non-competitive and competitive options are offered at the Y, including the non-competitive Fish program for youth ages five to 10, the competitive Intermediate/Stars program for ages 10/under, and the competitive 12/under program. At the competitive level, athletes can participate in solo, duet, trio, and team events.
