For
children kindergarten and up. The New Canaan YMCA’s progressive Y-Swim Lesson program
focuses on water adjustment, stroke
development, and personal safety, all in a
fun environment.
Classes are taught within guidelines
set up by the YMCA of the USA National
Aquatics Program.
Each of the seven developmental
levels is divided into five elements:
personal safety, stroke development,
water sports and games, personal growth, and
rescue. Youth or Family Membership required.
The
YMCA offers three 12-week sessions
throughout the year, as well as special
summer sessions.
We believe that continuity and
consistency really make a difference in how
your child learns the skill of swimming.
