Whirlwind Diving is for all levels, beginner to advanced. Athletes are grouped and trained in the below competitive and non-competitive levels.
New members must schedule an evaluation with Coach Adam Vance. Please call Adam at 203-966-4528 x158 to schedule the evaluation. The evaluation fee of $40 must be paid at the front desk PRIOR to the evaluation. Please bring receipt to pool deck.
Development – 3 Month Sessions
This group is designed for both the beginner with no background in the sport of diving, and perfect for the diver who has a limited skill set. Participants will not attend meets.
Commitment: 2 days a week for 1 hour
Gym & Dive – 3 Month Sessions
Two sports in one!
Perfect for beginner athletes with limited dives and gymnastics skills, who would like to pursue both sports in one program. Class features one hour of gymnastics and one hour of diving.
Commitment: 1 Day a week for 2 hours
Tri-State League Team – 3 Month Sessions
Perfect for divers with a limited list of dives and who want to compete in dual meets. This level prepares athletes for competitions in a less stressful environment. Athletes will not be required to travel out of the tri-state area. Participants will need to know how to perform front dive, back dive, inward dive, and front or back somersailt. Athletes must also have no fear of learning dives from the 3 meter board.
Commitment: 2 or 3 Days a week for 1 ½ hours
Must be 10 years old or younger by registration date. Athletes will compete at some invititational or regional meets when they are ready.
Commitment: 2 days a week for 1 hour and 15 minutes
Perfect for athletes looking to compete in limited competitions and want to focus on either a high school diving career or prepare for the JO team.
Commitment: 3 days a week for 1 1/2 hours
JO Team (Invitation Only)
Athletes must have a JO list of dives in order to be in this group. This group is designed for participants who need a more exclusive practice setting. Athletes in this level will travel out of state for competitions, invitationals, east nationals, YMCA nationals, and JO summer nationals.
Commitment: Varies by JO level
