In short, nothing compares to the quality of YMCA child care. The New Canaan YMCA offers quality, state-licensed child care for children ages 6 weeks through grade 6, all in our South Avenue facility.  Our childcare, after-school, and Nursery School programs are all accredited through the National Association for the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC).

Rainbow Station is a full-day child care program for children 6 weeks through five years of age.  The program is located in the YMCA’s Child Development Center at our South Avenue facility and operates on a year-round basis.  Hours are Monday-Friday, from 7:30am-6:00pm.  We maintain a staff ratio of at least 1 to 4 for infants and toddlers and 1 to 8 for preschoolers.

Rainbow Station is a model of excellence in child care.  The loving, nurturing environment enables children to develop at their own pace and for parents to be relaxed about their child care while at work.

Rainbow Station provides a safe, nurturing environment, rich with age-appropriate experiences where children can explore their surroundings.  Children have the opportunity to develop social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and creative skills.

In our brand-new facility, we offer children spacious, age-appropriate indoor and outdoor spaces to explore and learn through play-based curriculum.  We also offer Bouncing Bears explorative gym and swimming once a week to our preschoolers.
