Bringing the adventure home . . .
What
happens in a Project Adventure program?
Typically
a Project Adventure program could involve
anywhere from half
| a day
to several days (or for an hour a
week overall for several weeks) in
small groups going through a series
of adventure-based activities in
which group participants get to know
one another better and work through
adventure-based challenges.
Activities often
include group initiatives and games,
low rope |
 |
course
elements, and/or high rope elements attached
to a “belay,” or safety line.
A class
becomes an adventure if an element of
surprise exists, with activities that compel
participants into doing things they never
thought possible!
 |
Project
Adventure focuses on fostering human
learning and growth via
adventure-based programming in
settings such as schools, recreation
settings, and with any group that
wishes to function more cohesively
(corporate groups, sports teams,
etc.).
In many ways,
Project Adventure’s mission is
well captured by its
motto:
“Bringing the Adventure Home.” |

The
New Canaan YMCA is pleased to
present this program to use
adventure education as a catalyst
for personal and professional growth
and change.
