The
Y’s Little Owl Nursery School operates on
the premise that children’s natural
curiosity and desire to make sense of their
world are used to motivate them to become
involved in learning activities.
We offer classes for two, three, and
four year old children. Our program is
licensed by the State of Connecticut, and
accredited through the National Association
for the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC).
Our
program strives to develop the whole child.
The curriculum includes large and
small group activities and self-exploration
through guided free-play.
Teachers prepare the classroom
environment for the children to learn
through active discovery and interaction
with adults, other children, and classroom
materials.
In
addition, since our program is held in the
YMCA facility, children have the opportunity
to participate in Bouncing Bears Explorative
Gym, music class, and Y-Swim Lessons as part
of their nursery school curriculum.
