  • ADMIN SUPPORT-MEMBERSHIP ADMINISTRATOR, FULL TIME

Pay range: $12.66-$15.20/hr

Job Duration: Starting Immediately

Looking for full time support in our membership department to work on a variety of member-related support functions. Must have very good computer skills, able to learn new software system which supports membership data base, be a team player in our dynamic member relations atmosphere.

  • AQUATIC INSTRUCTORS, PART TIME

    Pay range:        $10.46-$15.00/hr

    Job Duration:    Winter Session, 2011

     

    Positions available Monday through Saturdays.  Must have current certifications in Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard, first Aid, CPR for the Professional Rescuer.  Experience not mandatory, but helpful.  Resumes immediately accepted.   • GROUP FITNESS INSTRUCTOR – WATER FITNESS, PART TIME

Pay range: $27-$60/class

Job Duration: Fall/Winter Session, 2011

  • LIFEGUARDS, PART TIME

    Pay range:      $10.46-$15.00/hr.

    Job Duration:  Permanent, Part Time

    Must have current certifications in Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard, First Aid, CPR for the professional Rescuer, and AED. Early mornings, evenings and weekend hours available; some experience a plus.   • NURSERY SCHOOL TEACHER

    Pay Range: $14-17/hour

    Job Duration: School year 2011-2012

    Looking for a highly motivated individual with a passion for working with young children and families. Join our dynamic and innovative YMCA staff team. Work in our beautiful NAEYC Accredited Child Development Center which has an excellent reputation in the community. This part time position may be just right for you!

    The successful candidate will possess the following: previous early childhood teaching experience; knowledge of the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of young children, a proven record of working effectively with children and families. Familiarity with State of Connecticut License guidelines, NAEYC Accreditation and the YMCA is preferred as we strive to develop strong kids, strong families, and strong communities through a creative, child centered approach to learning.

  • PILATES APPARATUS INSTRUCTOR

Pay Range: $40-$60/Class

Job Duration: Starting Fall/Winter, 2011

Experienced Pilates Apparatus instructor needed at the New Canaan YMCA. We are looking for a certified Pilates apparatus instructor to begin in December, classical training preferred, primary need is Monday Mornings, 9AM and 10AM. Secondary need is someone to start up early morning, evening, and weekend classes.

  • PRESCHOOL AND YOUTH MOVEMENT EDUCATION INSTRUCTORS

Pay Range: $12.50-$17.50/hour
 

Job Duration: Starting Fall/Winter, 2011

Part-time positions available teaching Parent/Child, Pre-K, and Grade school classes in a fun, non-competitive, nurturing setting.

• Must be GREAT with kids, highly energetic and professional.
• Must be extremely dependable and reliable.
• Previous experience working with children a must.
• Previous experience in gymnastics/cheer/dance preferred.
• Free Membership, Free babysitting available.

SENIOR PROGRAM DIRECTOR (SALARIED)

Looking for a dynamic leader responsible for developing and implementing high quality and innovative programming which is inclusive of Competitive Aquatics, Sports, Community Programming and Special Events and other related programs. Provides liaison to committee(s) and advisory board(s). Ready for addressing challenges as well as implementing innovative ideas for a vibrant YMCA.
 

Know-How and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Four or more years of program management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other not-for-profit agency.
• YMCA Team Leader or Multi-team/Branch Leader certification preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
• Ability to direct programs through supervision of staff, development and monitoring of budgets, marketing and public relations, program development.
• Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Emotional and social intelligence essential.
• Supervisor extraordinaire. Experience with supervision and ability to inspire employees underneath them.
• Change agent.
• Innovative ability to stimulate progress.
• Ability to expand programs and expand budget.
• Provide leadership and work well with volunteers.
• Able to manage multiple projects in fast paced environment.
• Deadline driven and has ability to meet deadlines.

  • SPINNING INSTRUCTOR

Pay Range: $30-$60/class

Job Duration: Starting Immediately

The New Canaan YMCA is looking for certified Spin Instructor(s) for regular early morning class(s) and for possible substitution for other instructors. Must be Mad Dog Spin certified and have CPR/AED and FIRST AID certification. Needs to be a self- starter and reliable. Salary based on experience level.   • TEACHER’S ASSISTANT, INFANT/TODDLER, PART-TIME

    Pay range: $11.51-$13.82

Job Duration: Part-time- 20-25 hours/week; starting immediately
